Moody County Museum's collections include:

Dakota Archives: Collection of artifacts from the Flandreau Santee Sioux. Collection contains photos, genealogy, stone tools, costumes, etc. Donated in site to the Moody County Historical Society. Collection spans 1869-2009.

Local History Files:
Newspaper clippings, directories, monographs, obituaries, and research papers on the history of Moody County. Collection spans 1872-present.

For genealogical and other local-interest research, also visit the Rootsweb at Ancestry.com, which includes online access to selected historical and vital records, message boards for people researching Moody County citizens, plus information about other nearby historical organizations.

Library and Archives:
Contain incomplete runs of the city directory Sanborn fire insurance maps; abstract books; county-wide newspapers on microfilm,  including: Colman Argus, Egan Express, Flandreau Herald, Moody County Enterprise and first issue of Roscoe Express. Microfilm collection spans late 1878-1990s.

Note: The Moody County Resource Center, 610 West Community Drive, has a collection of Moody County's newspapers, access to Ancestry.com, plus books in their archives and we recommend that researchers also consult their collection.

Reva Smith Photo Gallery: Donated by local Flandreau photographer, Ernest Gregory in honor of his grandmother, Reva Smith. This collection contains photographs collected by Ernie over 5 decades of working in the Moody County area.  In addition to taking photographs, Ernie was an avid collector of the historic pictures of the county's early history.

Local History Artifact Collection:
Hundreds of artifacts, ranging from pre-history through the twentieth century, includes household, agricultural, professional, trades, leisure, transportation, decorative arts, folk art, and military-themed materials.
